Flamur Gashi was born in Peja, Kosova, on June 10, 1969. He graduated from the Faculty of Litruature and Albanian Language in Prishtina. After several trainings and specializations at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tirana, Mr. Gashi has served as an advisor for some ministers in the Republic of Kosova.
His contribution is well known also in the field of journalism and political studies. He has been the Director of the National Institute of Diaspora in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Executive Director of the Institute of Political Studies in Tirana; Director of the International Press Centre during the visit of President George W. Bush in Tirana. In May of 2010 he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mr. Gashi was appointed in November 2014 as Advisor on the Region to the President and serves at the same time as a pedagogue to the AAB University in Prishtina.

He is married and has three children. He speaks Serbian, Croatian, German and English.
