30 July 2020 The new Chief of General Headquarters of the Armed Forces, Major General Bajram Rushit Begaj is sworn in before the President of the Republic
The new Chief of General Headquarters of the Armed Forces, Major General Prof. Assoc. Bajram Rushit Begaj was sworn in today before the President of the Republic, H. E. Ilir Meta, at the same time Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania.
After the execution of the national anthem and the reading of the decree of appointment, General Major Begaj, laying his hands on the Constitution, vowed before President Meta that:
“I swear that I will obey the Constitution and the laws, I will with honesty serve my country and I will protect the interests of the Republic of Albania.”
Presenting the decree of appointment, the Head of State wished the Chief of General Headquarters good work and success in the very important task of leading the Albanian Armed Forces.
President Meta stressed that the education and specialization of General Major Begaj in the field of medicine is an added value that will help him exercise this task with high responsibility, especially in terms of meeting the challenges of the time for our Armed Forces, as part of NATO.
The swearing-in ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Defense, Mrs. Olta Xhaçka, the Deputy Chief of General Headqaurters of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Manushaqe Shehu, the Commander of the Land Force, Brigadier General Albert Mullai, and the Commander of the Armed Forces Support Command, Brigade General Ndriçim Sallaku.
