President Meta awards the famous artist Gjovalin Lazri the title “Grand Master” *: With his cello he has given us artistic and aesthetic pleasure, but above all human messages, which have enlightened us and positively changed our daily life.

President of the Republic, H.E. Ilir Meta, awarded the outstanding artist, musicologist, composer and pedagogue Gjovalin Lazri with the high title “Grand Master” with the motivation: “In appreciation of the outstanding musical talent, high mastery of interpretation as violinist, as well as with gratitude for the special contribution given during the work full of dedication as the director of the Artistic High School ‘Jordan Misja’ in the field of artistic pedagogy for the professional training of young artists ”.

In his welcoming speech held during the solemn ceremony organized on this occasion, which was attended by artists and personalities of Albanian music, the Head of State thanked Master Zhani Ciko for presenting the outstanding activity of Professor Gjovalin Lazri and expressed his satisfaction in honoring one of the outstanding figures of our national music.

“I am sorry that Professor Lazri is not physically present here, and on this occasion I want to wish him good health and a long life, but I am really happy for the feeling of gratitude that exists in the students and his colleagues for all that major contribution he has made!

With his cello, Professor Lazri has given us artistic and aesthetic pleasure, but above all human messages, which have enlightened us by positively changing the daily life of our lives, but also making us optimistic about the future.

Music is magical and universal because it touches the strings of our souls! It can change the world because it has the ability to influence and change the human soul. Music unites and brings different people closer together, and at the same time makes our society even more harmonious.

As Professor Gjovalin Lazri has achieved, with great success.

Perhaps this was the divine mission of music that pushed, encouraged and inspired Professor Gjovalin Lazri 70 years ago to dedicate himself passionately and eternally to music and the cello.

Jordan Misja Artistic High School would turn his dreams into an admirable spiritual and professional reality, along with his colleagues, the great artists Tish Daija, Robert Radoja, Zhani Ciko and many others.

The first professors of the Lyceum knew how to distinguish his talent and nurturing in him the eternal love for the cello.

Later, studies at the universities of Tirana and Prague would form an artist of national proportions with Gjovalin Lazri.

On this occasion, as President, I would like to appreciate and express my respect and institutional respect for the entire constellation of teachers and longtime leaders of the Artistic High School ‘Jordan Misja’ for decades!

Hundreds and thousands of composers, instrumentalists, conductors, singers, dancers and painters have emerged from their teaching, dedication, minds and hands, who have managed to make a name for themselves in the prominent stages in Europe and the world.

It is precisely this constellation that gave to our Albania a new artistic, spiritual culture, a great and musical world for its sons and daughters, where undoubtedly Professor Gjovalin Lazri played his extraordinary role.

In these seven decades of his valuable life and artistic activity, Professor Gjovalin Lazri has left bright artistic traces in his solo and concert life, in his pedagogical teaching and in the direction of the Artistic High School ‘Jordan Misja’, which we continue to feel them, we still touch them and from which we should be more inspired for the future.

He never stopped contributing professionally and civically to the society and education of the younger generations.

It continues to be a treasure trove from which all his former students, fellow lecturers and later directors of the Jordan Misja Artistic High School set an example and are inspired.

Therefore, I feel honored to appreciate this rare and outstanding artist with the high title “Grand Master”, wishing him once again health and longevity and to make his students shine as much as possible “, – he emphasized.
