5 September 2019 President Meta: Fighting poverty to strengthen peace and prosperity in Albania
On the occasion of the International Charity Day and the anniversary of Mother Teresa’s Consecration, the President of the Republic, H.E. Ilir Meta, in the framework of his initiative, in cooperation with the “Blood Donation Alliance”, participated in the blood donation session organized by the “Fundjava Ndryshe” Foundation.
President Meta, after expressing his gratitude for the young people committed to humanitarian work, emphasized that this donation session demonstrates a high sense of social responsibility, humanity and solidarity at this historic date of sanctification. The great Albanian Mother Theresa.
“Today is a very special day. Not only International Charity Day, but also Mother Teresa’s Day of Sanctification, bound together in the important human message they convey, that love must not be left alone, it must be putted into action and service, especially to those most in need of coping with daily poverty, suffering and hardship.
I would like to thank all the volunteers of “Fundjava Ndryshe”, together with Arber Hajdari, for this excellent work that they do continuously, to alleviate the suffering of many poor children and families in our country.
Like the motivation behind Mother Teresa’s Nobel Prize, we must not forget that poverty and suffering are often a threat to peace. And only through a commitment to combating these social wounds, consistently and sustainably, we do not only give love, but at the same time strengthen the peace and prosperity of our communities and families.
So once again, my wholeheartedly thanks for this great work and that you have chosen September 5th to conduct a blood donation session in a season where blood donation requirements increase.
Acknowledgment to the young and women who are today transmitted to society and especially to the younger generation the message that Albania needs to volunteer and promote a sense of solidarity so that we can be more united and prosperous. “- said President Meta.
