President Nishani inspected the joint military exercise “Albanian Lion 2012” between the Albanian and British Forces of the Royal Navy

The President of the Republic, Bujar Nishani travelled to Vlora to participate in the joint military exercise “Albanian Lion 2012” on open  Adriatic Sea .

After the British  helicopter arrivals on the deck of the British Navy  “HMS Illustrious”, President Nishani accompanied by the Minister of Defense  Arben Imami; Chief of Joint Staff  General Xhemal Gjunkshi; British Ambassador , Nicholas Cannon; President’s Military Advisor General Jeronim Bazo; President’s Diplomatic Advisor  Besnik Konçi, the Commander of the Albanian Navy General Qemal Shkurti; The British Military Attaché Colonel  Bob Barnes, were recived by the Commander of the Task Group of the Commodore Training McAlpine, the Commander of the third Brigade of the Royal Navy General Brigade Smith and the commander in charge of  “HMS Illustrious”, Captain  Connell.

During the inspection the Commander of the Task Group Commodore McAlpine introduced the exercise program of the British Navy including the Evacuation and the joint Forces actions on the sea, etc.

President Nishani addressing  to the present commandos of the training  “Albanian Lion 12”, said that  “the great beneficial of the joint training leads to relations consolidations between the two Armed forces the two countries. The joint action brings higher professional standards, required on the military, especially now that we are part of the NATO Alliance”, – highlighted the Head of State.
